Sturdy frame construction in Manchurian walnut, in an elegant reddish-brown tone; the extreme temperature fluctuations of Manchuria produce the dense wood grain characteristic of this type of furniture. Two-door front interrupted by a central stile with delicate relief carving; artistically designed and arranged floral motifs, including magnolia and cherry blossoms as symbols of spring. The panels are framed by a fine, sculptural meander border; in the base section, five scholar’s objects likewise enclosed by a meander border. Interior fitted with two drawers and two large compartments; in the base a cleverly concealed wide secret compartment. Raised on four tall, stepped feet; partly decorated brass fittings with movable handles. Perfect condition; an extremely rare example of the so-called court seasonal cabinets in museum-quality collector’s condition.

Large Ceremonial Rock Crystal Vajra

Rare four-pronged vajra (Tibetan: Dorje) carved from a massive rock crystal, yellowish with minor sintering. Since Tibet has no diamonds, rock crystal was revered as the petrified ice from the mountains of the gods and regarded as the embodiment of absolute clarity and purity. This vajra, itself a symbol of the absolute clarity of enlightened spirits, is carved from rock crystal and partially wrapped with slightly oxidized bronze wires in a stylized lotus petal form. An extraordinary ritual object of museum-quality collector’s standard.

Rare Perak Headdress

This headdress, traditionally worn by married women in Ladakh, serves not only as decoration but also as magical protection for the head and a symbol of the family’s wealth. Mounted on a fabric-covered felt base, it is adorned with approx. 136 baroque turquoise stones of varying sizes and shades, a repoussé silver medallion, a square silver brooch set with coral, and two silver ornaments with small turquoise stones. The lower edge is finished with five rows of five sewn cowrie shells each. Sides made of black Persian lamb fur; carrying cords braided from yak hair. A rare, large, and richly jeweled Perak; a collector’s piece.
